Ode Butterfly Collectors

Instituto Español Second Life is collecting Ode for a charity auction to to raise funds to purchase a computer for a collective of Mexican Spanish teachers who are attempting to enter Second Life as language educators. Anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.

As I am compiling full sets for auction, anything I have duplicates of you are welcome to in return for something I am missing. Thanks so much to those of you who have sent me files full of Ode. As of this update, we have completed 9 sets of Ode for auction just from your generous donations.

Exciting news! I know we all love collecting Ode, and no one will deny that floating around stripped of all prims and motionless in a lag ridden sky is just the cherry on the sundae f a romp through SL, but once you collect your treasures what do you do with them? I am betting you take your pretties out and parade them around, so I encourage you to take a picture or two and share with us your beautiful, adorned with butterflies, selves. ::smile::

Still searching to complete a set or even find your first piece? That's ok. Anyone who has been to a hunt has memories so if you have pictures of a hunt, beginning, middle, or end., share those with us too.

I know, I know now you all are dying to know where you can share your magnificent pictures of Ode. Well, we have our own Flickr group so follow the link, register with Flickr if you haven't already, join the Ode Butterfly Collectors' group, and start sending us your pictures!

Get those cameras out and show us what you love about Ode. ::smile::

PS There is a discussion board at Flickr where people can post the pieces they are looking for to complete their sets. Yeah!

I thought that maybe having our own blog would be a good way to keep people up to date on what is happening with the Ode hunts. I can let you know when they are happening (ok sometimes because what's life without surprises?), when new variations come out, and what fun events might be taking place at Random's sim. I was also thinking this might be a great place for you all to list any Ode pieces you have for trade. Or if we hook up with flicker we could even have you posting pictures of your favorite hunt moments. See the possibilities are endless. ::smile::

I also wanted to let you all know that the castle at Ode is now the official "clubhouse" for Ode Collectors. What does this mean? Well it means whatever you want to make it mean, but what it means for right now is that you can rez things at the castle if you want to have Ode Swap parties there. Consider this blog your forum for creative suggestions and comments. What do you want to see happening with the hunts? Do you have an idea for where we should host a hunt? Let me know your thoughts and I will see what we can do to make your dreams a reality.
